We're aware that the way gems are currently implemented is not satisfactory. The problem is that the solution needs to be focused and as airtight as possible. This is why a quick fix is not necessarily the best thing to do despite how big of a problem it is.

Any change to the gems has to be looked at from a metagame standpoint as well. What does a gem nerf do to the economy? What does it do to player morale? It's a larger question than simply "fix the gems now plx."

It will be changed and it will hopefully be soon (and I know how dreaded the word soon is) but, right now, there's simply nothing definite that I can tell you since it's still being tweaked. I also value my ability to pay my mortgage too much to convey something not concrete to you guys.

While I can't tell you more I will absolutely, absolutely guarantee that the devs in charge of the parts of the game affected by the gem system are aware of the issues and are working hard on it.
